The question was never who counts as my neighbor. It's: will I be one?

Print it, color it, cut it out, then play the story on your kitchen table. Walk two fingers past the hurt traveler, the way the priest and the Levite passed by. Then bring the Samaritan and his donkey, wrap the paper bandages on, and carry the traveler to the inn. Two silver coins for the innkeeper, and a verse card to finish: “Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10:37)

What you get (12 pages, US Letter and A4)

  • Stand-up Samaritan, hurt traveler, donkey and inn, each with a fold-back tab
  • Six paper bandages to wrap on the traveler, plus oil and wine jars and two silver coins
  • A cut-out road from Jerusalem down to Jericho to play the story on
  • A two-page read-aloud of Luke 10:25–37, with the Bible's own words in green and a “Words to know” box (Levite, Samaritan, denarius)
  • A large coloring picture with four questions to talk about
  • Four verse cards: “Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10:37, World English Bible, word for word)
  • Six “My kind act this week” cards
  • A grown-ups page with a ten-minute home version and a Sunday-school version
  • Where this story sits on the ten-stop Bible Trail (Stop 7)

Kindness as a thank-you, not a test

The man who asked Jesus “Who is my neighbor?” wanted to know who he could leave out. This kit keeps the good news at the center: we don't help others to make God love us. He loved us first, and kindness is how we pass His love on.

Good to know

  • Crayons, scissors, plain paper and a glue stick. Card stock makes the stand-ups sturdier.
  • One purchase covers one home, or one class or group. A whole church or several classes: one copy per class.
  • Scripture is quoted from the World English Bible (public domain), word for word.
  • Instant download. Nothing is posted to you.
